
Mechanical design
Carried out simultaneously with other internal groups or specifically for a client, mechanical design enables the total definition of the product while it is being developed. The databases prepared at the mechanical designing stage include manufacturing parameters in order to ensure conformity between mechanical design and manufacturing. The use of kinematics and structural analysis enable us to prevent potential problems or failures prior to actual product development. Furthermore, mechanical design activities are carried based on the various standards and specifications applying to each customer’s business segment.
Since the 3D modeling results will be transferred to the client at the end of the project, the databases generated by our engineers and technicians will be delivered in the same software format used by our client. By establishing both the parametric mode and customer specifications from the start of the project, transfer and continuity issues are resolved when the 3D databases are transferred at the end of the project for subsequent manufacturing activities.
Drafting & technical documentation
Based on the 3D databases created throughout the project, various assembly and detail drawings are produced according to the specific standards established by the client. A bill of materials or a drawings tree structure is also produced. Information obtained from the clients manufacturing staff or from subcontractors is taken into consideration on the drawings for manufacturing of the new product. Functional dimensioning and tolerencing are key elements in this activity. Following the manufacturing of the prototype and the trial period, the technical documentation is then updated based on the test results.
Support to prototyping
When carrying out turn-key projects, the qualified PRÉCICAD personnel provides assistance to facilitate the communication and the respect of the technical criteria established in the product designing phase. Technical enhancements and economic considerations are generally addressed in the prototype manufacturing phase. Our professionals work with the manufacturing team to find the optimal solutions.
